The Beginnings

Black in Tech is a dynamic social impact organization that emerged from the need to address the underrepresentation of Black professionals in the technology sector. It began as a grassroots initiative in 2019, driven by Kave Bulambo who recognized the lack of diversity and the systemic barriers faced by Black technologists.

Our mission is to spearhead equitable access to tech education, economic advancement, and career opportunities for underrepresented talent and entrepreneurs in Europe, enabling their full participation and success in the digital economy.

The journey started with local meetups and online events, where members could network, share experiences, and provide mentorship. These initial efforts laid the foundation for a broader movement, leading to the establishment of formal organizations and chapters in various cities.

What We Seek To Achieve

  1. To increase the representation of Black professionals in the tech industry.

  2. Provide access to career resources and opportunities through our offering mentorship programs, skill-building workshops.

  3. To advocate for equitable policies and practices within organizations.

  4. To rally along the force that is the Diaspora to influence change on the African continent

  5. To create lasting change by partnering with companies and institutions to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in Germany and across the EU.

Through collective effort and unwavering commitment, Black in Tech is shaping a future where no one will be left behind as the world digitizes.
