Diversify Tech

Diversify Tech

Research shows that only a fraction of technology workers are Black, with the number ranging between 3 - 7%.

Given these statistics, isolation and a lack of support keep Black tech professionals in a resource vacuum.

Building A Solution

BlackInTech Berlin was founded to create a community and support system for Black developers and Black tech professionals living in Berlin.

The mission of our community is to unite, empower, include, and represent Black professionals working in the tech industry.

Our Team

Our community was founded by Kave Bulambo and in 2022, Kave was joined by Chiedza Muguti and Ansela Manful as co-founders. We are industry experts in engineering, product, and talent acquisition.

As Berliners, they truly understand how challenging the journey to building a tech career can be for Black professionals.

As fervent community builders, they understand the path towards resources and expanding our network rests in creating partnerships with allies.

Kave Bulambo

Founder

It is an honor for me to be leading BlackInTech Berlin. Seeing how a very small idea I had in my mind has multiplied and is transforming and impacting the lives of others, is a miracle I could not have predicted.

I am so hopeful about the future and cannot wait to see what we become in the next 10 to 20 years. I am also very thankful to have found allies and supporters who are believers in diversity, inclusion, equity, and belonging.

We truly appreciate your support. Together we are stronger.

Ansela Manful

Co-Founder

Since the inception of BlackInTech Berlin in 2019, it has been a privilege to see our community and initiatives excel.

Our growth in membership year on year, the value we deliver, and the support we provide for all our members push me to do my utmost to propel an equitable tech ecosystem for black tech professionals.

Fully appreciating and realising the power of community; networks; connection; representation and inclusivity when it comes to people truly feeling they belong, can contribute their skills and expertise and be their fullest selves is the greatest untapped potential of our time.

To reach that next level of harmony as a global community, we all need to be active and drive the changes we want to see in the world, advocates and allies alike.

I believe organisations like BlackInTech Berlin are perfectly positioned to support individuals and organisations towards our dream goal of an equitable world for all.
